Find if Image has been Modified or Photoshopped with FotoForensics

Find if Image has been Modified or Photoshopped with FotoForensics

We come across lots of beautiful photos and pictures on internet and Facebook of places and scenery that we wish to set them as our wallpaper. I also like these images but always had this thought in mind that if these images are real and such lovely places do exists on earth. Although I am not sure of these facts, I still like to set them as my wallpaper.

If this had happened to you too, and in case you are wondering that every second photo that you come across is real or fake, then you should definitely try this out. Being a photographer myself, I understand how important it is to photoshop an image but one should decide the level of modification that he wishes to perform in a photo.

With the help of this free online service called FotoForensics, you can also determine whether the photo you are currently seeing is real, fake, modified or photoshopped. Yes this is true; you can also determine the level of modification done on the photo. You just need to either enter the image URL or upload the image to this service (higher the resolution, better the scan results) and wait for the Forensic results.Read the tutorial here

Image taken from FotoForensics

FotoForensics make use of Error Level Analysis (ELA) which is a type of technique in which they introduce certain known level of error in an image, but if the ELA value is higher at some points than expected then it has surely been modified. I would suggest you to first understand how this process works else you won’t be able to correctly evaluate the result.

Say for instance for the above image, the darker the image part, lesser the change in the image whereas with each image resave, the colors are lost and the photo tend to turn white and noisy. In this picture, the background is completely black, but the person is not. That means that the background is at a different quality level compared to the rest of the picture; the background was digitally modified. In this case, it was enhanced to make the white look brighter.

Let me know how it goes for you.

Automatically Expand Abbreviations with Abbrex in Firefox and Chrome

Automatically Expand Abbreviations with Abbrex in Firefox and Chrome

In today’s world, the communication has become little complex than it was with the use of short and abbreviated words. Whether it is while texting some message to your friend or while reading any page over internet, you come across abbreviated words a lot these days.

It would not be wrong if I say that abbreviations makes it easier for people to write long sentences and save time but at the same time it can be quite difficult for the person on the other hand, reading them (if he is not aware of the meanings and full form of those words). If you are some person who likes to spend time on internet on reading pages then I am sure you must be requiring some tool that can automatically expand the abbreviated words for you.

Well here is some good news for both the Firefox and Chrome users. Abbrex has created some add-on for this purpose for both these browsers. The extension is called Abbrex and is a type of abbreviation expander which will automatically expand any abbreviation or acronym for you on the internet. What you need to do is just hover your mouse over the abbreviation and the expanded form will be provided to you instantly in a tool tip (like a bubble).

After you install the addon to the browser, you will see it in the menu bar on top. So whenever you come across any unknown abbreviation on web next time, just click this extension which will highlight all the abbreviations for you hovering which will show you the expanded forms.

It is a must have extension for both Firefox and Chrome users which will help you when you are struck and don’t the meaning of the abbreviation before you.

Unload Inactive Tabs

Unload Tabs Inactive for Long Time in Chrome to Free Memory

When I asked my friends about their choice of the Browser then it were the Firefox and Chrome that stood before the other browsers. Clearly these two browsers are the most used browsers today. While people use Firefox for its add-on repository, Chrome is used majorly because of it plain and minimalistic interface which is loved by many people.

I liked Firefox earlier a lot but now I have been majorly using Chrome but in both these browsers I have hated the CPU and memory consumption that these browsers use. Also for someone like me who works with most tabs open, the browsers tend to consume lots of computer resources. I know several people who even don’t close the tab after they have finished working upon. This needlessly increases the memory utilization which could have been avoided.

Here is a chrome extension called TabMemFree which can unload the inactive for you after the specified time of inactivity. This is extremely helpful for someone who has a tab still opened even after the completion of work as this would help them in saving the computer resources and memory.

You just need to install the extension, visit the settings and set the Timeout and Check period as per your needs and this will check the inactivity of the tab after the set time and unload the tab automatically. It will however don’t change the tab title and icon, for if you need to come back on it the page will reload instantly.

TabMemFree saves lot of computer memory as it will automatically unload the tab for you after the specified time of inactivity have passed. Say if you set the Check period as 10 mins and Timeout period as 15 mins, then it will check the tabs every 10 mins and unload those tabs which are inactive for more than 15 mins.

You can visit the location below to install it in your Chrome browser.

PHP 1.

Introduction

Up until recently, scripting on the internet was something which very few people even attempted, let alone mastered. Recently though, more and more people have been building their own websites and scripting languages have become more important. Because of this, scripting languages are becomming easier to learn and PHP is one of the easiest and most powerful yet.

What Is PHP?

PHP stands for Hypertext Preprocessor and is a server-side language. This means that the script is run on your web server, not on the user's browser, so you do not need to worry about compatibility issues. PHP is relatively new (compared to languages such as Perl (CGI) and Java) but is quickly becomming one of the most popular scripting languages on the internet.

Why PHP?

You may be wondering why you should choose PHP over other languages such as Perl or even why you should learn a scripting language at all. I will deal with learning scripting languages first. Learning a scripting language, or even understanding one, can open up huge new possibilities for your website. Although you can download pre-made scripts from sites like Hotscripts, these will often contain advertising for the author or will not do exactly what you want. With an understanding of a scripting language you can easily edit these scripts to do what you want, or even create your own scripts.

Using scripts on your website allows you to add many new 'interactive' features like feedback forms, guestbooks, message boards, counters and even more advanced features like portal systems, content management, advertising managers etc. With these sort of things on your website you will find that it gives a more professional image. As well as this, anyone wanting to work in the site development industry will find that it is much easier to get a job if they know a scripting language.

What Do I Need?

As mentioned earlier, PHP is a server-side scripting language. This means that, although your users will not need to install new software, you web host will need to have PHP set up on their server. It should be listed as part of your package but if you don't know if it is installed you can find out using the first script in this tutorial. If you server does not support PHP you can ask your web host to install it for you as it is free to download and install. If you need a low cost web host which supports PHP I would recommmend WAMPSERVER.

Writing PHP

Writing PHP on your computer is actually very simple. You don't need any specail software, except for a text editor (like Notepad in Windows). Run this and you are ready to write your first PHP script.

Declaring PHP

PHP scripts are always enclosed in between two PHP tags. This tells your server to parse the information between them as PHP. The three different forms are as follows:

All of these work in exactly the same way but in this tutorial I will be using the first option (). There is no particular reason for this, though, and you can use either of the options. You must remember, though, to start and end your code with the same tag (you can't start with for example).

Make your Mouse to Click Automatically with Mouse Auto Clicker

If you are some person who is required to click many links in a day then I can imagine how boring or painful it can be, doing the same thing again and again and over the day. One of our readers was also bored up clicking more than 1000 links in a day and as he is required to do the same thing daily, a Mouse Auto Clicker is what he needs.
Mouse Auto Clicker is a program that makes the mouse clicks automatically for you and after the regular time intervals set by you in the tool. Moreover you can also decide how many times the mouse should click and after how much duration. I came across two such tools that can automate this task for you, as listed below.
1. Auto Clicker by MurGee
The tool is very simple to use as you just need to download and run this program. Before using the tool, you should set up the configurations so that you can set the program as per your needs. You can configure delay or interval between mouse clicks, can define the number of mouse clicks to be automated, a keyboard Shortcut Key to Start / Stop Mouse Clicking automatically.

So whenever you press the hotkey, the mouse will start clicking automatically thereby giving your finger some rest. You can also set which button (of the mouse) to click automatically. However the program is a shareware and can run free 20 times.

2. GS Auto Clicker (or AutoClick)

This is the same kind of Mouse Auto Clicker as mentioned above which works in the similar way with the advantage that it come free and does not expire. Just download the tool and set the options so that you can use it better and as per your needs.
Both these Mouse Auto Clickers will help you with your work where you are required to click mouse many times or with your gaming and other things. The tools automate the process of clicking the mouse so that your fingers can relax.
